Default Volunteer AZ

New to AZ and looking for a performance scene. Looking to volunteer or work for free on my time off from work. Didn't see my dad much growing up and thought to go to college only to have a mountain of debt and no job. I finally got a job with the govt. which sent me here to AZ. I guess after many mistakes I would have been better at automotive than my other interests. Just being around a hotrod or performance shop would be cool. Wanted to learn to weld and paint and build horsepower.

Thanks for reading.

Welcome to the AZ, I grew up in Gilbert and currently reside in thatcher AZ. I will tell you not too much in the way of good LSX truck shops in your area. The only ones I can think of are more fbody oriented. Top gear, loud pedal, and extreme come to mind. Also arizona speed and marine. Some are more secretive than others. Don't expect too too much. Unfortunately this isn't Houston or San Antonio where you might get a shot with so many shops. Most of the shops down here are 90% corvettes or older model stuff. The fastest trucks are built at home in the garages of really talented guys who don't have their own shops, but turn out some killer stuff.
