Default Virginia Beach says Hello

New guy from Virginia Beach says Hello.....

Just received the HP Tuner Suite and am working on my '05 Avalanche Z71: CAI, Flowmaster Exhaust, Granatelli MAF, 6" lift, 35" tires.....Just getting started with mods and tuning.....

For anyone else new out there.....Search the boards.....There is a LOT of info out there for us tuning newbies (and more experienced people alike).....

Has anyone had any luck getting a 6000-lb Avalanche get off the line better, without having to install a supercharger/gears/etc (this little thing called money is slowing me down)? I know I'm fighting an uphill battle with my tires and 3.42 gears.....I've already adjusted the TQM, which has helped a little, just wondering if there is some other ideas I can try.....I'm working on the VE tuning now.....

I'll hafta to check my schedule. Sounds like it will be a nice GTG.....

Racing is another story.....From what I read about most of you guyz, you'd all run me into the ground.....Even tho I'd love to get a few runs.....

Right now, I'm a little more show than go.....But, working on that.....Why else would I fork out the cash for the tuning software and other mods thay may end up on the truck.....

Welcome, always glad to see another AV here.

Mine was coming out real good till last weekend when the G80 came apart so violent that it cracked the rear end cover.

The best money you can spend is a new torque converter. I have a stock Chev Trailblazer converter and it made a huge difference even before the supercharger and isn't very expensive. Feel free to PM me if I can help you out.

btw, is your AV a 4x4 or a 4x2?
