If I was to buy an out of the box ready to go truck, it would be a lightning. I've been considering it for a while anyway. What could be cooler than to have a Blown TBSS (soon to be blown anyway) and a Lightning in the drive way. I could damn near tow each one to the track and if I break one, tow it home with the other. I know the L doesn't have the towing cap of the TB, but on a short haul, it can be done.

i say go buy a used awd SS throw on a supercharger and it will be a nicer truck all around than any of the others. it will get better mileage than the srt10, b faster then most of the trucks around town, have room in the cab, look sweet, and it can tow. u said earlier that u dont know if the motor will hold...there are tons of ppl running radixs on there ls motor trucks that are not having any problems cept maybe some tranny issues with that much power.

Well, i got the Lightning. A 2003 Sonic Blue with under 9000 miles on it. Mods will be done soon enough. I plan on being in the 450 rwhp/500 rwtq area by the end of summer. As for now, it is bone stock and looks to have never been beaten, it has the stock rubber and the engine looked completely unmolested. I am happy with my decision. Sorry to all of the Chevy guys but I think I bleed Ford Blue.

Welcome to the club bro. I think you made a good choice.

And Greggo, I'm not sure what you're talking about with towing capacity. A L can tow just as much as any other 1/2 ton truck. It is just an F150 after all, lol.

lightenings i like, but they are nothing more than a 5.4 with a blower. you can do the same thing to a 5.3 and have twice the power and the SRT-10 are overhyped turds. for something that gets like 8mpg that hoe better run 10's

There's more there than just a blower. Research and find out.

I stand corrected then. I always understood that the towing cap was 5000lbs on the L.

HUH? Why the hostility? You know that you can always upgrade the blower and get a lot more out of it, plus the engine is already made for a blower so there are no other things to worry about (besides some internals work). But it is easier to re-up the FI system when it comes from the factory with FI already, at least that has been my experience.
