i want to put a six speed manual transmission in my truck. not sure wich 1 i can use. will a corvette tranny work in a silverado? need sum suggestions

A lot of people like the T56 IIRC. I run auto so not sure. Try searching the GM Drivetrain section.

 

Welcome to the site, and no a corvette 6 speed will not work in your truck without heavy modification. Look for one out of a viper, camaro, or an SSR truck.

Good luck on the six speed. problems you will run into is speedo and cruise control issues. Depending on which motor you have helps a lil. but yes camaro/ trans am ones are the easiest to swap.

 

its a 4.8 ................. shouldnt my tune guy be able to take care of the speedo problems?

 

Yes, the tuner should be able to take care of those issues.

In a truck I'd use a ZF S650 transmission, but good luck finding one...
