These are photos of the red GMC Regency RST that I looked at as a comparison: If I recollect it was a lot more expensive than the truck I purchased in July 2005 [the dealership back dated the sale to June]

These are photos of the Joe Gibbs Performance truck, which was either a 2003 or 2004. This truck was screaming fast, but too expensive for the mileage and the few problems i.e., broken mirror and window

The vehicle I drove for a solid thirteen-(13) years. After purchasing the truck, my Corolla was a Monday through Thursday commuter car and the car of choice for groceries and other tight parking lots. I sold the Corolla in 2014 after many, many, many miles!

I am pulling my hair in searching for tires! To be fair I have been pricing 275/55r20 tires for years because whenever I get a oil change: I am told that my tires are dry rotted and it is dangerous for me to drive on my tires. I get the "frightful deer caught in the headlights look on my face"; however, there have a been a few honest brokers in the auto service industries and reassured me that in their professional opinion that my tires have surface cracks.

I purchased my Pirelli tires in January 2011 - I now have approximately 43,000 miles of usage, I learned that the "UTQG" system by the US DOT and/or NHTSA is "subjective" and not standard! There isn't a true standard for the tire manufacturing industry, but that is fine with me because that inherently means "Capitalism and Free Markets"! In my humble opinion the "UTQG System" is useful only by comparing the manufacturer's product line of tires i.e., Goodyear vs Goodyear and Pirelli vs Pirelli. It is very difficult to compare a Goodyear vs Pirelli because each and every tire manufacturer uses different testing criteria, methods and tests.

I found some old photos of my OEM Goodyear Eagle LS tires. I think the photo illustrates the UTQG as 340 AB and the manufacturing code of 2804 which is the week ending July 10, 2004: I purchased my truck in the last week of June 2005, which had approximately 1000 miles. I think the Pirelli Scorpion ATR have the same rating of 340 AB. If I divide the actual mileage by the warranty rating on the Goodyear Eagle LS, my truck utilized 85.26% of the tire's tread life. If I divide the actual mileage of 42,980.2 by the warranty rating on the Pirelli Scorpion ATR, my truck utilized 0.859604 or 85.96 % of the tire's tread life.

My OEM Goodyear Eagle LS lasted six and one-half ( 6 1/2) years and the Pirelli Scorpion ATR's are currently seven-(7) years and approximately three-(3) months. I believe I drove more mileage per year with the Eagle LS than the Scorpion ATR. It is a hard call for me to say which tire is a better tire. The Eagle LS tires were parked in northern Virginia (NOVA) for the duration of its usage. The Scorpion ATR tires were parked for 4 1/2 years in Virginia [no garage], 1 1/2 years in Florida [no garage], 4 1/2 months in Houston [multi-parking level platform cover] and 7 months back in Florida [no garage]. Which is harder on the tires, the changing of four-(4) seasons in Virginia or predominately two seasons in Florida and Texas? On average a winter day in the Florida panhandle is a either cool autumn day or warm winter day in NOVA.

My Pirelli Scorpion ATR 275/55-r20 tires, ~ 43,000 miles, purchased January 29, 2011 (manufactured 43rd week of 2010), from Merchant's Tire & Auto Centers #388 in Reston, VA; OEM tires were Goodyear Eagle LS with ~ 1000 miles at vehicle purchase date [last weekend in June 2005]. Merchant's annotated 46,895 miles on my truck at installation, my truck currently has 89,875.2 miles. I have done very little driving during the past four and one-half-( 4 1/2)years. The vast majority of my driving is on highway, but there are a lot of decrept highways, roads and streets. My truck was raised on the Virginia highways, roads and streets for nearly ten-(10) years, four and half-(4 1/2) months in Houston, Texas and two and one-half (2 1/2) years in Florida.

Which tire performed better? Both tire brands got near 86% to their mileage ratings.

I know I need to purchase new tires and earlier today I visited a few websites to compare tires and prices. I was really surprised that when I searched for Pirelli Scorpion ATR 275/55r20, the price knocked me to the floor. I just may pull the trigger because the price with shipping, pickup, installation, disposal of old tires and taxes will be nearly $200.00 less than I paid $788.95 in 2011.

I am trying to save on tires because I think I may need to restore confidence in my suspension. I recently carried a couple loads of topsoil and compost in my truck's bed: my truck was sitting like a frog! I unknowingly tested my truck's suspension, shocks, springs and tires with a heavy load.

Please review my photo album of my truck's undercarriage and provide recommendations and opinions. https://www.performancetrucks.net/g/album/7515264

I recall reading someone recommending new jounce bumper - I still need to purchase a set.

Thank you
