Default ordered new truck

Hello everyone, my wife and I had our first child 6 months ago(a perfect little girl). I found out pretty quick that putting a baby seat in the back of an F-body is a pain in the a**. So last week I decided that I need a truck. I ordered a black reg. cab chevy. 5.3L LT with most of the options. It should come in around christmas. Until then, I'm going to do some research and start collecting parts. I wanted to get a lightning but their pretty expensive with low,low miles. I'd be scared to buy one with more than 5-10k miles. anyway, I'm up for suggestions on which parts to order. I would like to have the basic bolt ons,cat-back,and whatever I will need to do a 2"/4" drop but maintain ride quality. Please let me know what you guys think.
Thanks
Jason Smith

congrats on the new child and the new truck!!!! you'll find alot of info. here..
basic bolt-ons would be CAI, exhaust, tune, that there should wake up your truck quite a bit.... which since you used to own a f-body I assume you know all this!!!

I recently sold my camaro, but I still have the hawk. Theres no way I could get rid of them both. I am planning on getting the bascis before the truck arrives. CAI, cat back, pullies, and tunning. I'm just not sure exactly which brand or MFG I should get for each of the above items.
I'm sure this is the wrong forum for these questions so I guess I will move over to gm general discussion

I dont know why, but chevy made some changes to their trim levels. I cant remember all the details. go to chevy.com and build a truck. The trim levels are different now.

The sticker will be around 29k The final selling price after discounts should be around 21-22k Also, I will be using 3k GM points so that will drop it down to 19-20k.

Sounds like a nice truck, but are you sure you want a regular cab? If you're taking the baby seat in/out regularly, it'll be easy enough, but that thing's going to infringe on your arm space quite a bit if you leave it in there regularly. I love RCSBs, wish I could own one, but even being single I find it'd be too inconvenient.

W/ regard to trim levels, there are now 3 LT packages.
2005 base = 2006 LS
2005 LS = 2006 1LT
2005 LS w/ Leather = 2006 2LT (I'm not certain about specific options in 2LT package)
2005 LT = 2006 3LT

The 2006 RCSBs are available w/ 1LT (e.g. same as 2005 LS). Totally lame of Chevy to do this in my opinion.....LS trucks now can have vinyl seats! WTF were they thinking?
