I've been checking out the site for a few weeks and found alot of useful info...in not building a truck which im sure most of you are...I bought a 5.3 out of a 2001 chevy silverado with 80k that im going to put in my 1978 Pontiac Phoenix (not a Nova )..i going to buy a Gm Hot Cam from a guy on here, also have a LS1 intake and ported TB that im going to use, along with a built 4L60E with a shift kit and a 2500 stall, next will be getting a posi unit and gears for the rear, and some 275/60/15 M/T Drag Radials...Here a few pics of my car as it sits now with a junk 305....Justin

Don't use the hotcam, please


and don't use an LS1 intake. If you need the hood clearance, use an LS6 or FAST intake.

 

Ventura, apllo, skylark, nova, phoenix...nova with a nosejob is what most people call it....just curious as to why i shouldn't use the hot cam???

there is way better cams out there for a 5.3...(texas-speed and performance...check the right of the screen at all the sponsers) tsp220 is a proven cam for 5.3's start searching and get you a great cam nice car too...
