im buying an 05 silverado red rcsb this week to make up for my 2000 ws6 being for sale. Is there anything that usually goes wrong with these trucks that i should know about before i mod the hell out of it. thanks guys

 

welcome from sacramento, what part of northern cali are you from? i know the stepper motors in the guage cluster like to go ape sh*t or stop working completely.

 

Fairfield, so about 50 miles from you. Already wanting more power out of it. The little 4.8 doesnt compare to my 450rwhp trans am. Lol.

 

Welcome from SoCal, I'd keep an eye out on your tranny if you want big power like your transam... Look into procharger, or a turbo set up

yea i know what you mean i had a 01 ss and my 4.8 ext cab doesnt even come close lol im trying to find a turbo that will pass emissions

sounds good to me, i have my eye on a turbonetics tc70, and a built 4l80e i will be fabing up the system myself. im active duty military so i will be registering out of state where emissions dont apply. i do performance installs on the side if you guys ever need any work done.

 

ive also considered just swaping the ls6 out of my t/a into the truck but id rather get into a turbo.
