New from Missouri/Carbed 6.0
#1
HI Merry Christmas to everyone. I hope the fat man in the red suit is good to all. I have a 06 GMC RCSB originally with a 4.3- 4.10's in the back, shorty headers, 2.02/1.60 manly valves, 28x9x15 slicks, and a 100 shot of nitrous. Ran a best of 14.50 @ 93 MPH. Of course that wasn't fast enough. So I found a 6.0 out of a 04 1 ton. supposedly only had 25K on it. So I put a comp cam in 224/230 dur. and 581/588 lift. Long headers. Then I got crazy....... Decided to delete the F.I. and the computer. Thats right I put a carb on it. Well then the problems started. Trans, fuel system, guages and starter wouldn't work. Well after new trans, converter and all new Autometer guages and replumbing the fuel system and a MSD ignition. With a Quick Fuel 850 cfm carb, was ready to go. See you tube Hot Rod Truck 2 and hot rod gmc #3. Then it spun a cam brging and a rod brging. Took it out and took it to a local race engine builder and spent another 4 K on it. Bored .030 with 30 over Diamond forged pistons forged scat rods. put a new cam in (same one) Had all the block work done and turned the stock crank. Still couldn't lean out carb so after 15 to 20 miles I parked it and ordered a new PRO SYSTEMS carb. when it came it was right on. Got the timing set and reset the rev limiter to 7000. It was really strong. I mean really STRONG. Went home loaded the tools jack, slicks etc. got 4 miles from home and it started making noise and the oil pressure started dropping. The race shop looked at it and said it wasn't anything they did. Was because of the quick fuel running so rich. Picked it up and crated it sent it to LME in Houston Tx. They specalize in LS motors. Now it is a 410 stroker with 11 to 1 comp. Haven't got it back yet but it is due in the next couple of weeks.
