Hello all,
I've been using your forum for awhile but for some reason never had account, so I figured I'd join the fun.
I am currently working on my 2001 ECSB Silverado 1500, it has ~90k miles and I am the 2nd owner. Currently the engine is a stock 5.3 with a 6l80e swapped in using a TCM-2650 from Zero Gravity Performance. I have a LQ9 sitting on an engine stand that I am currently rebuilding and will hopefully go in this winter.

@dantheman1540 @firebladeJJ @arthursc2 Here we go!

Nice looking truck, how do you like the 6L80? A few of us have kicked around the idea but none of us have done it. You enjoying the 6 speed?

Welcome! Truck looks super clean and probably a bit of a sleeper with that trans. Plz do elaborate on how much you like it or hate it.

I just completed the swap and only have about 500 miles driving with it, but its really a lot better than the 4l60e. The truck feels much zippier and is at a lower rpm cruising through town, on the highway its nicer to not have such a drastic RPM jump with each down shift. I still need to tune the shifts a bit more because right now it kinda kicks me in the ***. All in all it just drives pretty similarly to the 2013 I pulled the trans out of with a bit snappier shifts. I did a pseudo race with my friend who has the same truck and the trans did make it quite a bit quicker over the 4l60e.

As for the swap itself it was super easy, pretty much bolts right into place minus having to drill new holes on the trans mount. I used the newer style trans fluid lines and just used rubber hose to attach to the stock trans cooler. The stock tcase bolted right up but I had to swap the input shaft to a 32 spline input shaft. The stock shifter linkage works mostly, there's not enough throw to put it into 1. but P,R,N,D,3, and 2 all work normally. I am still working on getting a temp gauge installed and a gear readout (dash currently says it's in 2nd) and I want to get the reverse lights working.

Yeah!!! This is sweet!

I have everything sitting in my front room ready for this lol. My Tahoe needs it bad, Dan was roasting me last night about it. Interrupted my stalking sessions

Thanks!

I say send it. The swap took me about 2 days to complete with a lift, but I was taking my time and trying to get everything underneath the truck buttoned up pretty nicely.

If you have any questions I am happy to help.

Great! Thanks man! I am not sure if you read in the other thread there were some things I wanted to do while I had my truck apart, but it's getting to the point that I need to just sign on for the drama and get it done, can't be 2L60 much longer

Plus I really want my boost back

Sweet!!! Pics needed for sure when you get time. I've got all my auto stuff in that I took out of the truck when I went to the T56 swap. The shift lever cable and what not. I'm keeping all the manual stuff in the truck so I can swap it out at will. I'm probably getting a 9" so i can swap the rear gear when I go back and forth to the manual and auto. Trying to turn my truck in to the next Big Red, google big red camaro.
