Hey there,

Came here looking for DoD delete info and decided to sign up. I have a 2012 Sierra, 2wd, extended cab, long box. I'm in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Lots of great info found here so far!

We could help you out with a DOD delete kit. We have the CMB-09-0030 if you're not using PCV. Or the CMB-09-0031 if you're using PCV. A non-DOD camshaft will be needed. The cam will be dependent on if this has VVT or not. If this has VVT are you keeping that or deleting it as well?

We would recommend our CMB-09-0027 VVT Delete kit. This changes the cam gear to 3 bolts and the kit includes new ARP cam bolts. While you're there mine as well replace the chain with an LS2 chain SME-143012.

We would recommend going with one of our Summit Pro LS camshafts. The SUM-8712 stage 1 drop-in with no springs required. It is great for a daily driver and will provide good torque right off idle. It will have strong mid-range and top-end power. It will require a custom tune and the idle speed can be adjusted for a smooth idle or a noticeable lope.

Another option would be stage 1 hi-lift SUM-8719. This cam will provide good torque off idle and have better mid-range and top-end than the drop-in stage 1. It will require a custom tune and the idle speed can be adjusted for a smooth idle or a noticeable lope. With this cam it is recommended to upgrade the stock springs to LS6 NAL-12499224 springs. These will work with your stock retainers.

Either of these cams will be a great upgrade for the performance of your truck. They will work with stock gearing and stock torque converter.

Thanks for the info. I like what I'm reading about the summit ls cams, I'm really leaning in that direction!
