Im am pleased to have been steered to this site from another site. It seems to have much more information. I am the current owner of a 2001 suburban 1500 LT 5.3 that is experiencing every problem that these trucks will experience. I have looked up all of my current problems and they seem to all be the proud receipients of a TSB of some kind. From the P300 code, the abs hydraulic sending unit failure, the fuel pump and now the drive shaft.
The truck is paid for, I cannot afford a monthly payment and up until the driveshaft it basically was a daily driver.
But now its time. If Im putting money in it to repair stuff I want to put performance parts on it,try to gain some horsepower, yet still have my wife drive the kids around. If I can do this and not really wreck the gas milage(like it was getting good gas milage anyway) Id be pleased. If not I will be happy with some bolt ons and maybe some gears and heads and headers and h pipes and throttle body and...and...and...more POWER!!!!!!!!!
Sorry , I get excited. Anyways im pleased to have been turned on to your website and hope that I can get some guidance .

there is a very good chance your suburban will get out of control lol

but the way you are thinking is definitely teh way to go, if your gonna replace it might as well make it last. it seems that you have a good knowledge of the mods you wanna start wit but feel free to ask anyone anything as we will all help if we can.

Just came back from OVERBEY TRANSMISSIONS, LA HABRA CA.
Scott the owner is super helpful. Says diff is probably gone. Prior to this he said shift kit and gears are good but advised use of electronic programming unit. Says then Im not locked in and can also adjust for different applications.
He now thinks diff is gone so installing gears is on the table. Recommended 4:10 gears with electronic programming unit. Very relieved and also excited about getting something going with truck.
Remember truck is stock. This is my start.First mod!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the site Im off to the forums.
