New here... kinda.

Well, I joined a while back, made two posts, then disappeared. I doubt anyone remembers me at all (hell, I forgot I had this account, and tried to register for an account and found out I already had one...).
Either way, I race for TeamXXX Racing, a racing team out of the NorthEast. I drive a bracket/autocross/road course mx6 (pretty slow car...), which is getting the heads rebuilt as we speak (by me). I also have a 1987 Pontiac Formula I bought off another car guy. He got the car from a junkyard in 1995 and started working on it... 11 years later (2006) he still hadn't finished it, so I took it off his hands (with the LT1 motor) for $900. imo I got a pretty good deal on that car. I also have my grandfather's old car (he left it to me in his will), which is a 1997 Eagle Vision TSi 3.5L. Not the fastest, but certainly beats everything else I have in gas milage.
The most recent purchase of mine is also the most expensive (financed it... I work for a Tier-1 Supplier for GM, Ford, and Dodge/Chrysler, designing transmissions, torque converters, axles, differentials, and shifter mechanisms). It is a 1995 Chevy K2500 series 6.5L Turbo Diesel with 239,800 miles. The truck is an extended-cab, extended bed, full-size truck. Already been lots of fun, and I'd like to start increasing the power output, as well as (hopefully) get a good, solid 600,000 miles out of her. However, this is my first experience with a diesel (or a turbo!) so if anyone has any advice to give on that subject, I'm more than willing to listen. After all, as I said, I'd love to see this truck make it past 1/2 way to a Million Miles without rebuilds, if at all possible (although if anything in the drivetrain breaks, well, I do work for a Tier-1 Supplier!)
Oh, and I'm a Kettering University (you might know it by it's name until the late-90's, General Motors Institute/GMI) student (Freshman), and have worked almost non-stop (held down jobs with only 2-3 week breaks between one job and another) since 13. Also ran my own Automotive Photography company, and hope to have some pics up of the different vehicles shortly.

Thanks for the warm welcome y'all. As I said, though, any advice on regular, everyday things for a diesel in particular (I know all the routine maintenance, and other stuff for the gas engines, but I would like a crash course in driving/owning a diesel in particular).
Thanks!
Thanks!
