Default New Here with a 6.4 powerstroke

Here's my 2008 Powerstroke 6.4

Sorry for the crappy cell pics, I'll get better ones when the weather clears up.

Go to school in Lubbock at Texas Tech.

I'll be graduating in May with a degree in Petroleum Engineering.

Mods I have so far are:
S&B CAI
H&S Mini Maxx- hot damn tune
Flo Pro 4" Doc/Dpf delete
Rancho 4"
Toyo Muds (35's)

I don't have any dyno numbers, but similarly modded trucks run 13's at the track and are putting 580rwhp and 1250ft-lbs of torque.

It's a fun truck to drive, but I'm probably going to be downsizing to a 1500 coming this summer...

Hopefully a 2011 Sierra Denali... We'll see.

Welcome... A SD would be a nice upgrade from that 6.4... I've seen faaaar to many of those trucks getting shortblocks and complete engines with less than 50K on them (in stock form and stock use) I'm suprised yours has lived any length without major cooler issues and without head studs I'm guessing. Good luck with it. Probably a good idea to cross your fingers till you can swap it in for a new GM

Nice truck. I like what you've done to it.
How's the motor treated you since you've had it? I'm skeptical of any Ford diesel but that's just me, there are millions on the road that don't have any problems with their trucks.
Looking forward to see you get a new Denali, have you seen the latest Edmonds and truck mags reviews on the big three trucks? Let me know and I'll throw up a link or two.

Do you really know much about these engines? I'm not trying to be a dick, and I do love my GM's, but there are plenty of 6.4's out there lasting well beyond 130k. I'm not sold on selling it yet, because it is by far the most quality vehicle I've owned. (I've owned 2008 Silverado, 2006 Pontiac GTO, 1998 Chevy Silverado, 2002 Honda Accord, 1999 Dodge Durango).

The radiator was replaced under warranty, but no issues after that.

The main reason for problems on these trucks is the dpf causing regen, but that's now gone...

With that said, I've done some thinking lately, and unless something major happens to my truck in the next few months... I'll probably be keeping it and putting the following mods on it:

EGR Delte w/ wastegate
Headstuds
Traction Bars
Intercooler
Down Pipe
5" Straight pipe
KEM Tunes
cold side pipe.
