Default New Guy from OK

Hey guys my name is Kevin. I have a 2000 silverado that has been cosmeticly modded and is pretty nice I think but now its time for the 4.3 to come out any suggestions.

You will get lots of suggestions, but it really depends on how fast you want to go and how much money you have to spend.

250 to 300 hp with 15+ mpg and strong. oh yeah and I have a 5 speed manual I would like it to mount up

any one of the V8's should get you there then but if you are going to go through all the trouble of swapping from a 6 to an 8 you might as well go for the 6.0

ha ha I think you are actually setting your goals a little low.

That would be easily achievable with a stock 5.3L add a cam and some tuning and you will be at 320+ RWHP.... Not sure about the capabilities of the manual tranny on those V6's though.

While I agree with this, depending on how much cost is an issue I have generally seen 5.3L's sell for quite a bit cheaper than 6.0's
