Default New guy from Michigan

Hey everyone,
I am(obviously) new to this forum. I just bought a 99 silverado z71 with 284000 on the body and about 100k on a rebuilt motor. I think it was a plow truck because the bottom bumper is missing. I am planning on doing some fixes to it such as a passenger side door(it was in a wreck) and a spring for the tail gate. after that I will be selling my 406" SBC to fund a rear mount turbo build. I really want to be able to pick on the MANY ricers around my home town and up in Sault Ste Marie where I go to school.
I will be asking for a lot of help on this cause I do like to go two tracking from time to time, nothing crazy but im deff not just drive on the grass.
I am really worried about dropping into some really cold or frozen water, not uncommon up here, and cracking the turbo. any insight would be greatly appreciated! I know this is the wrong forum but I want to start working on this ASAP!
Thanks in advance for the help and thanks for a GREAT forum and great information!
Sam
