Hows it going there! New guy I've got an 06 single cab short bed Z71 Silverado. 5.3 blah blah blah. Main reason I came on here is for some turbo info. I'd like to hear from guys who have or are running them. A friend of mine wants to turbo his 00' silvy. We've got an extra 5.3 and an extra 4l60e. He is buying a tranny rebuild from pro-built. (I tried talking him into an 80e but he doesn't want to do the swap.) So inside we are going to clean it up basically with the exception of new bearings, rings, and H beams. What rings are good for turbo use? Looking for advice on a cam, I told him to look into the LS6 cam from summit for $287 also LS3 valve springs. We want to keep stock heads just do a minor P&P, bigger valves and a 3 angle valve job. Will there be any clearance issues with that setup? I've read about using a cobalt MAP sensor, is it required or can I tune around the factory one with HP tuners? All in all those are my questions, hopefully I will have some pictures soon and some progress to post up!
