Default New from Florida with build question

Hello from Florida. I’ve just come across the site in the last few weeks while getting information on a build I’m doing.
The build is on a 05 ext cab Chevy 4WD 5.3(work truck)
New engine/transmission built for a blower. Already have parts from TSP: cam, heads, injectors, fuel pump, pistons, rods, stall etc. Forged bottom end. The blower is a Vortech V3 with a air-air intercooler running 8 pounds. Using another 5.3 and transmission so it will be a quick swap. A friend with a shop is doing everything and has experience with similar builds.
I have a Tundra with a trd blower and was wondering if my Chevy will be close in hp?

A Florida member wow doesnt seem like theres many of us! I live North of Orlando.

We are gonna need some more details. Tell us exactly what heads/cam/compression ratio/injectors/pump? What gears are in the truck with what tires? As well as specs on the Tundra.

Also post some pictures it sounds like a fun truck.

I’ll get more details next week, but most everything was purchased from TSP with there advice on a boosted wortk truck engine. I do know the heads are there Stage 2.5’s.
Tundra Trd Pro Crew Max flex fuel has factory duals and using a unchip for tuning the tvs 1900 charger.
Ran a 13.6@100 in 4H for traction.

I used a basic 1/4mile time calculator to come up with the "guesstimate" that the Tundra makes about 425whp. I don't see why a healthy 5.3 with 8psi shouldn't run close to that. However there are so many variables at play still. Maybe a smarter member will chime in.

Is the Tundra using the TRD tune still? I know they are extremely conservative so they can offer the warranty with that package. I really wish Toyota would work with the aftermarket to make it easier to unlock OEM ECUs. I knew someone with a Tacoma 4.0 procharged and he was using some piggyback ECU with a MAF calibrator. It ran ok for what it was but never seemed to be tuned quite right.

What track did you run at? I've been wanting to hit either Orlando speed world or head down to Bradenton sometime during this good weather.

Also are you still running the 4l60 and 10 bolt?

I actually ran at a track in Valdosta, Ga. I’m using a unichip as a piggyback. There are supposed to be 2 tuners who have cracked the Toyota ecm but I haven’t tried them.

If the tundra has 4.30 rear end gears it will smoke you off the line with the TVS blower.

The V3 will make all it's power over 3-4k rpm because it will build boost as the rpm rises.

The chevy truck give or take has like 400-500lbs on the tundra crew cab because those trucks are stupid heavy for just a half ton, then you add on a 50-70lb blower plus whatever else.

In the end it will depend on what gears you run, what transmission you plan to use, how much power that engine makes to see if it's faster. I'd assume anything that makes like 450-500whp would run faster than a 13.6.

Tundra has 4.30 gears. I had to run it in 4 hi because it needs a posi. I think I could get to a low 13 with traction in 2 wheel drive. It’s a 4 door so it’s heavy.
I’ll get all the details on my Chevy build in the next week or so.
The Tundra is fun from a roll to 100mph. Several mustangs and challengers have found out!

Going with a air to air intercooler. Using one that I actually bought for my Grand National. It’s call a V4. I’ll post pictures once it’s installed.
