Default New dude called kaboom10 with a 5.4L truck

Got a 2002 F-159 4x4 offroad extended cab. Really stock so I want to hop it up good for the street. I want to use a 5.4L aluminum block and 4v heads with a cam change and related components.

Default Thanx

I hope to get some answers to hoping up my ride. I've had a lot of explores and other trucks but they were just lease ones. I just fell in love with this one and it's only got 33k miles.

It's where to start really. I know that I should get a programmer before tearing into things right?

Nope, hand held programmers are a waste of money and time. Get a custom tune if you want a tune but do that after you put a few bolt ons on.

Welcome to PT.net

The performance aftermarket is just starting to show support for the Fords. It will be a little more difficult is all.

Tuning? Doesn't HPT 2.2 now support the 5.4L?

I intend on a 3 program x3 tuner with software. I've tuned carbed engines so it's not going to be that bad.
