Default new from Canada

hey everyone my name is chris pyke, im from nova scotia canada i own a 2007 chevy cobalt ls
i was the 1st person in canada to take on the progress of turboing my car, sense there was no software out there to tune it. now that i have the car finished its time to go even crazier, i just bought a 5.3L vortec motor, and im swaping it into my car over the winter. but i need help.
im looking for a 6spd tranny for it, but have no idea what to go with, also need help finding good cheap sites to buy low compression pistons forged rods and whatever else is needed to get 4 digit numbers out of a twun turbo set up on this motor.
heres some pics of my car over the yrs.
thanks for any help.

i been told im an idiot for trying this, but i dont care, i think it would be crazy and unique, rightnow im plan to build the motor and get it fitted into the car starting monday, and have it drive able for april. then start working on turbo goodies.

Welcome and nice little ride! if your going to swap that 4 banger out for a 5.3, you better beef up the suspention and somehow turn it into a rear wheel drive. I see a lot of firewall massaging in your future! Good Luck!!

Welcome to the site! That's going to be a crazy swap, you should easily get into the 400 hp range with twin turbo's on the 5.3L. Good luck on the swap keep us updated!

already have really nice coilovers on the car, we gotta run a tube chasis to make the body stong enough to run the rear end.
thanks on the comment

First of all welcome from ontario, and second, do you already have the 5.3? If not why don't you look into an LS4+transaxle combo that's already meant for FWD? I believe the engine block's an inch shorter than regular 5.3s just to give it more room to fit.

main reason why i wanna go from fwd to rwd is because of the traction, as well as id love to be able to lift the tires of the ground lol.
but this ls4+transaxel i never heard of before

Ah sorry man, I thought you wanted to put a 5.3 and keep it FWD, my mistake. RWD cobalt is a cool idea and I'm excited to see how it turns out!
