I'm mostly here for engine and transmission tech, I'm swapping a 4.8l and 4l60e into a 1960 studebaker.

Welcome, I'm not far from you, in Pleasanton.

A very helpful group here, so feel free to post up.

Are you doing a 411 PCM swap?

Thanks for the welcome and what's the 411 PCM?

I got a ready to run package from Pacific Fab in Gilroy from what I can tell it's a very early 4.8 the cam sensor is on the rear of the block next to the oil pressure sensor, no timing chain tensioner and the cam sprocket is a 3 bolt and appears to be the same used on the 3rd gen vortec 5.7 almost like an in between production thing, not sure though. Any ideas?

Transmission is out of an '03 silverado from Cordova Truck Dismantlers.

Welcome from a Dublin native! The 0411 pcm is one of the best, most tunable pcms from the factory. Identified by the last 4 numbers of its serial if I recall. Hence the 0411 name.

As noted above, the 411 PCM is pretty much the standard in LS1 swaps using a factory computer.

Sounds like you have a normal Gen 3 engine. It should be fun!
