Default New from Alaska

Hi, just introducing myself and my 2008 Silverado. I am currently in Alaska but moving to the great state of Texas next month. I can't wait to get to the warmth and an area with a bigger car scene.

Here is my Chevy in -15 degree weather.

It is a 2WD Z71, LY5 5.3. Currently only has an Air raid tube, 3" magnaflow exhaust and a Nelson mail order tune. That will likely become a longer list once I get to Texas!

The 2WD was great with nokian snow tires. But I just sold them since I would get much for them in Texas haha, But the all seasons are fine too. I do love Alaska also and might retire up here many years from now, but uncle same is telling me to move to Texas.

Welcome. Too bad you're leaving so soon. There are quite a few of us here in Anchorage with trucks.

Thanks for the welcome!

It is a shame I haven't had the truck long enough to be a part of it. I am a former VW technician and owned only VWs until I had this truck so I'm sure the truck scene is much bigger than the VW scene up here haha.

Welcome, from Labrador, the east coast lil' cousin of Alaska lol

Sounds like you won't be having anymore octane issues when you finally make the move down south
