What's your budget?

Being from CA may limit your options if you want to stay CARB legal and emissions legal. Do some reading on what you can do, your options are pretty much endless.

Internal stuff would be a camshaft upgrade and the supporting parts. A custom tune along with that. You could do a supercharger kit from a vendor. You could swap gear ratios to make it get up and go quicker. The more power you add the more you'll be concerned with the weak 4L60e transmission.

Start with 4.10 gears a stall converter, long tube headers and a good tune. From then decide if you rather swap a 6.0 or put money in your 4.8.(cam,ported heads, etc).

yes it’s one of the best mods I’ve done for my 4.8. I run 20 inch rims(29 3/4 tall tire) and I’m at about 2500 rpm at 70 mph. The taller the wheel the more gear you want to do. So yea gears a 3200-3600 stall, free flowing exhaust (headers, cai) and a tune will get the 4.8 moving pretty good. Plus those mods will transfer over to the 6.0.

yea I have some 20” on my truck there the Tahoe Ltz ones off a 2010 something like that. They look good on the truck I plan on keeping it like that for a while. I just put a air intake today it was giving to me for free so I took it it’s a spectre with an oversized filter not sure if it’s good like the k&n but hey can’t beat free.
