Default Need exhaust help!! I need knowledge.

as most of you know i installed Pacesetter long tubes and ory-pipe. The current setup has no cat and no mufflers. I have heard people saying a gas truck will not run at its peak without some backpressure. Please fill me in with knowledge on how to make my setup perform better in the 1/4 mile. I may not have enough back pressure but i have no idea on how much is too much and how much is too little so all help from people with knowledge and experience is appreciated.

throw a corsa system on there or magnaflow on there those would be my choices others will chime in. In your heavy truck with no stall you NEED backpressure to produce tq down low to get your heavy pig moving. When I put a 3K stall in my truck it made the BIGGEST difference of any performance mod aside from nitrous and my 418. You need a muffler and a stall

Unless your making BOOKOO HP and have no other mods to do i wouldnt worry about the backpressue issues, Get a good flowing muffler that sounds good and keep it at that. Magnaflow is a good choice Corsa is great as well. I have seen really good results from quickflow mufflers, they sound great too!

2600 would be the max I would want to tow with but even still that will make a BIG difference on how your truck comes out of the hole. I recommend Fuddle converters they are great and JOhn knows his stuff. Give him a call and see what kind of price he works up with you mention you are on pt.net he is a site sponsor--------->
You have to pull the transmission to put the stall in. Takes about 6-8 hours in a driveway to install it but WELL worth the time and money.

I spent literally 3grand on multiple mufflers and systems and in the end I spent the 600bucks on a corsa sport system and love it and will never change to anything else. Just ask anyone with a corsa system they will tell you it is money well spent. Besides that i would problem go with a dynomax racing bullet or a small case magna for loud or large case magna for a quieter note.

well, if i do a dynomax bullet, will i get my backpressure so i can get my bottom-end back? Also, do these bullets pop with my application or will it have a continious tone?

It will be raspy no matter what muffler you go with you dont have cats and now have longtube headers. Bottom line man you arent making the hp to support the exhaust system you have no matter what muffler you splice in. You need a stall to get you out of the hole and get you into the rpm band where you exhaust actually helps you and not hurt you. Above 3K is where a high flow exhaust will shine with a small motor. I have dynatech lts with no cats and my corsa but I have a 418 cubic inch motor to help me out of the hole whereas you have a stock cammed 325CI motor pushing all the weight. YOU NEED A STALL TO GET OUT OF THE HOLE or put some cats back on it and a muffler either way the lts will hurt you a bit down low but help you more up top. Its all about finding the right combo of parts

i doubt i want to mess with a stall. I guess i can tune my exhaust down for the power i am making. I wonder how much i should tune it down though?
