whats up everyone. I've been over on Ls1tech for a couple years but just (kinda) bought a Vortech S/C R/t Stock 360 with the extra injector setup crane ign and a 3' in exhaust with flowmaster Single in dual outs TransGo kit (probably) and a stall (3K maybe). Well i needed a new rig to tow my stuff from Washington state to Houston im starting S.A.M. in sept.
i went to the lot looking at a 03 SS chev 95K for 15K it didn't super impress me so i was about to leave when i saw the R/T with a single gauge on the pillar and thought i would take a peek at it first i saw 63K on it for asking price of 9995 and then saw that the gauge said boost and was pretty much sold on it. Then I drove it and heard a pretty nasty tick from the rear towards the intake on the pass side head. The vortech is pretty loud so it was hard to tell what it was i was concerned about a rod at first but the noise dissipated with higher RPM so in the deal i made sure that they would cover all repair expenses but talking to the owner of the dealers shop that is doing repairs, who i find out is close freinds to my boss, but isnt really giving me the time of day. He tells me that hes going to pull the heads and probably do a rebuild on them and after the machining I will probably have it in about 2 weeks.
So pretty much Im pissed about this whole deal and thinking maybe i should have stuck with the SS.
So if you would like to give me your opinion on the whole deal please feel free.
Also like i said im moving from near Seattle to Houston on the 25th of august
towing a 2500ish lb uhaul trailer with this thing if i get it back in time with the 2400 mile trip, do you think i will have issues with this setup i've been reading dakotas dont tow that great and with only a couple hundred miles on a possibly new top end.
Sorry for the book/rant and thanks in advance for opinions and advace
P.S. this truck came from the NY/NJ area if you know anything about it PM ME
