I had 3.73's when I first did the T56 swap. It was around 1200 rpm and 6th was almost worthless. I went to 4.30's and then settled on 5.13's
4.88's would have been ok if I didn't tow on occasions or if I had a big block like yours of course.

The big block helps. I wish I could get 4.30s for the 9.5" rear. They'd be perfect.
