info hunting
#1
Hello. My name is Nick. I am from central Illinois. I was sent here from a member of HPTuners site. In search of info on sled/ truck pulling. I am the wrench and tuner for a friend of mine. Its an 04 Chevy 2500HD extended cab short bed 4X4 6.0 liter 4L80e. Mods are Long tube headers, cat delete, dualled back to a dual in single out 40 series Flowmaster, JET throttle body spacer, open element air filter, and is mildly tuned with HP tuners. The truck competes pretty well. Its the only injected truck, so we get alot of "wtf you doin" but its all good. Trans is coming out due to some convertor issues. Cam and head swap after this season. Just trying to see if anyone else is as crazy as we are. And if so, what works and what doesn't. I will go back to my diligent searching. I already found the cam thread. Figured I'd get this part out of the way. Thanks in advance!!

get a deisel...lol.
lose the flowmasters for something like magnaflow/dynomax/any straight through design. throw the throttle body spacer away and get a spacer style plate from nitrous outlet. make sure the open element filter is getting cool air. most K&N style intakes are nothing but heat suckers.
stop by the F/I section instead of doing heads/cam. for not much more money, you can have a LOT more power.
or stop by the nitrous section if it's allowed in the events. a LOT more power for very little money
