Default I love my Bowties

I'm Jared. I'm a senior in high school right now, about to graduate! I have a 1997 1500 ext cab 2wd. has the stock 5.7l vortec in it right now. I'm working on getting a 6.0 lq4 to swap in it. my plan is to turbocharge the lq4 and drop it in.
I love my cars and trucks. I respect all vehicles, imports, muscle cars, slammed trucks, lifted trucks. I enjoy and respect a quality build no matter the make or style.
I live here in Arkansas, and hope to stand out from the rest with my truck. The "red dragon" truck is my inspiration and I hope to meet up with him and have a little fun at a TX2K event next year .
Well that's me and my current build. I'm looking forward to learning from and talking to some fellow gear heads

Welcome! You and Red Dragon and Redsled can have a 3 way race! Sounds like a sweet build you have going, excited to see how it turns out.

I will probably do a build thread of the swap and turbo build. the build is going in stages because I'm working at Zaxby's and about to graduate high school.

Here is my plan (sorry if this is too much info or annoying, I'm excited and like sharing lol): My dad bought the truck when I was 3 years old, We've had the truck every since. I still remember my dad line locking it for the first time and I was smiling from ear to ear and giggling the whole time lol. anyway he gave it to me on my 16th birthday. I won my first race in that truck, did my first burn out, got my first ticket, so many memories.
The gas mileage wasn't great so my parents bought me a piece of **** honda.. But now the truck is my project.

Right now I'm fixing the air conditioner, doing a full maintenance job, getting it like new again.
Then I'm going to do intake, headers, and exhaust on the 5.7 Vortec. Then black out the interior, put leather buckets up front, cover the rear bench in black leather, do a custom sound system, etc.
Then do a 2" cowl, paint-able bumper, billet grill, roll pan in the rear, relocate the tail gate handle, remove all the exterior trim. paint it gun metal gray, with black chevy bow tie in the grille, black 20" torque thrust style wheels.

Then I'm going to do a 3/4 drop, caltracs in the rear, sway bar front and rear.

Then do the 6.0 swap, drive it around so my driver skill can increase as the power does. Then turbo the 6.0. looking at a 500-600whp build at first on the stock block. then eventually go bigger 1000+ lol

That's my plan, sorry for the long *** post. I'll probably look to this site for answers to many questions a long the way. Thanks guys looking forward to sharing the build and learning from you guys.
