Howdy from Cypress, Texas
#1
Name is Kyle. 26 y/o from Cypress, Texas, suburb of Houston.
I don't have a truck now, but had a 2004 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner access cab until 2010. Then, thinking i was moving to Colorado, bought a 2011 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport. Great in the snow, for daily driving and great on gas, but i need a truck again.
I recently had a son, he's now 4 months, so 4 door or access cab is a must. I also work in the aquatic industry and haul mannequins for CPR, backboards, 50 lb buckets of chlorine tabs, portable pool motors, etc and drive 50-100 miles a day, so something roomy and comfortable is a must.
I though about a 2005 Tacoma Prerunner 4 door, with the 4.0, but they are expensive. My budget is between $12,000-18,000, though i'd like to be on the lower end. Recently, i've been looking at F-150s and Chevrolet Silverados. I like the Chevy better, expessially for the bigger 5.3 vs 4.6 and the ease for mods.
Should i get a Tacoma, i would gear it for light off-roading and if i get a Chevy, i would do bolt-on performance mods.
Recommendations? What would you do?

Congratulations on your new born man. In my opinion I go for Chevy Silverado SS, I as well I'm a Houstonian so going fast would be difficult. I drive a Silverado with the 5.3 and very pleased with it on everything i throw at it. So i go with the CHEVY.
