Welcome. Start out by telling us what your specs on your truck are? Year, engine, model, mods already if any, goal for moding it (race, tow, weekend, street toy).

LSX swap (If its in the budget) A lot of people are putting cams in the 4.8s and having pretty good success with it for a daily driver. On the bar starting with USER CP go 7 over to search and then go advanced. Type in 4.8 CAM and you will find out all you need to know about what cams people do good with and what people stay away from. Hope this helps you.

Throw a cam, headers with full exhaust, intake and a tune and you will be styling. Get a custom tune though not a hand held programmer, There are a lot of tuners on this site. Some really good one is Black Bear Performance and Nelsons and Wheatly all the links are over on the right side bar.

i had fun with my cammed 4.8...but, here's something to keep in mind.

a stock rcsb truck with a 6.0 supposably will run around a 13.2, you're gonna have to dumb quite a bit of money into your 4.8 to get it to run that....

so 6.0 stock swap, or heavily modded 4.8. You'll be able to swap in a 6.0 for the same price if not cheaper.

And, there's always the boost route. the 4.8 is a good boost motor, look up foose04 on here and check out some of his vids.

Lastly, welcome to pt
