I have a 93 c1500 chevy short bed truck has a 5.7 I just got the truck last week owner said it had a v6 idk have not confirm when my problem is that when I step full throttle open the truck does not lauch the truck 2steps...... he said it could be ecu or tranny he said he put same v6 tranny and v6 ecu idk am new to this truck world thank you for your help

 

I think most trucks in those years have sticker under the hood saying exactly what motor came from the factory, I also think the VIN number will tell you the size motor.

The V6 computer won't run the V8 motor very well.

 

I check on the vin ans I have a (Z) so it had a v6 and it got swap to a v8 truck drives fine but I floor it it 2steps
