Nice truck that thing will look badass on the TTII's. BTW when you do th eengine swap, just do a 6l and be done with it.

Depends on what youre getting the L98 for. I got my 6l for $1000 complete, but most are going for $1500-$2000, you will also need the wiring harness. If Im not mistaken though you will need this for the L98 too. I didnt catch what year your truck is, but the L98 is a MPFI engine,so unless you have a Vortech V-8 you're gonna need the PCM and a harness anyway. Just a thought, but a LT1 would be between a L98, and the 6l, and I think they can be found for relatively cheap. You could also find a 5.3 for cheap if you look around here hard enough, and it will still make more power and get better milage than a L98, and everyone here is more than willing to help you get it running right

would there be any benefits of a 5.3 over a 5.7? This is my daily driver for spring summer and fall so I want something with power, drivability, and somewhat good gas mileage if possible. give me some realistic opinions for what you would do in my case. If I had my way and didnt care about gas.....383 all the way but thats not gonna happen so.

Depends. A Small block 350 5.7, yes there is a lot of benifets. A LS1 348 5,7 would be better than the 5.3 though
