Default Hello/ Help

Hey guys I've been researching and looking on the site for awhile, but this is my first post. I'll give you guys a little history about me and then hopefully get some positive feedback from the guys who've been around the block a few times.

I'm a student at the University of Central Florida studying Molecular and Microbiology trying to become a dentist.

My Truck-
2002 White Regular Cab Shortbed Stepside Silverado 1500
5.3L V-8
Dual Exhaust
White Tonneau
Billet Grill
Billet White Chevy Symbol
63 LED turn signals in front and back
39 LED Brake Lights
8000K Xenon Low and Hi Beams
Aftermarket Stepside Euro Black Tail Lights DOT Stamped (so glad upgraded to LED bulbs can really see difference and #*$@ on regular incandescent light bulbs)
Aftermarket (Black as of now want to be painted white) LED Side mirrors with Amber on Outside and signal in Mirror

I'm really interested in making my truck faster as well as upgrading my interior.

This is my want list:
Roll Pan Color Matched
20" White Rims w/ Lo Pro's (I'm thinking something with 7-9 spokes)
Projector Head Lights with LED Halo Rings and Smoked Bumper
LED Third Brake Light
New Bumper? Matched White
Shaved Suicide Doors
Shaved Tailgate
Chip
Cold Air Intake
Long Tube Headers
Performance Cam
True Dual Exhaust w/o Cats
Maybe a lil nitrous 50-75 shot is all I would want safety in mind

Audio:
headunit
new mids and highs
I want to take out the center console and put a custom sub enclosure with maybe a ported 10" or 12"

Interior:
2 White Racing Seats w/ Harness
White Dash
White Guages

Let me know what you guys think I'll try and post some pictures up soon. All the ones I have show me with blacked out tail lights and head lights which aren't on my truck anymore because of John Law.

Also if you know where I can possibly get the things on my list mainly a place for performance chip tune and a quality intake please let me know as these are upgrades that I want before anything else. Thanks for reading.

Welcome!

As stated, Chips are a modification of the 90's. You will want to get a mail order or custom tune. For a good mail order our sponsors Blackbear or Wheatley can definitely take care of you.

Any Cold Air Intake will perform about the same. Find one cheap or make your own unless you don't really care what it costs.
If meaning an actual intake your truck intake will take you a long way. If still not happy you can upgrade but that'll get pricey for a good one.

Thanks for the speedy responses Royce and Vicious.

So for the tune do I need to take my truck somewhere? Royce yours is Wheatley tell me a little more about the performance increase..everyone I've talked to said it is quite noticeable.
If I do mailorder is it simple enough to do solo dolo?
The price of the tune is approximately what 100-200?
Would you say a K+N, air raid, volant,? Is there a brand name that performs better than the rest or literally is it all a money making gimmick?

the power increase is pretty noticeable, going from a stock tune to a 93 octane tune. prices are usually 250 - 300
as far as intakes go, i have an AEM brute force on mine, and i love it. It was a lucky craigslist find, so just look around.

Airaid Jr with a cheap filter is the best option IMO.

The mail order tune will come with easy to follow instructions. you pretty much just plug it in and let it work.

I forgot a couple of other things I have done. I got a 2-4 drop and limo tint on the back window and 6" strip with the side windows at 30% to be legal.

Welcome! Sounds like you have a lot of plans for your truck. One thing that is helpful with us giving advice is knowing your overall goal with your truck. I know you said you'd like to make the truck faster but are you looking to go racing on the weekend/everyday driver or maybe both?

A custom tune will do wonders for your truck. I personally have a Wheatley tune and love it a lot, best money Ive spent on my new truck by far!
