I have been lurking for awhile and should throw out an intro. I am Jay. I am currently finalizing a deal for a DBW 5.3 and a4 set up for my daily driver, an 87 GMC crew cab short bed. It currently has a 454 tbi and a th400. It loves every gas station in town ( approx 8 mpg), and that has to stop. I would like to get the 5.3 into the low 300s hp and close to 400 ft lbs of torque, while hoping for mid to high teens in town and low to mid 20s on the road(MPG). I have about a 3000 dollar budget for the swap so serious improvements will have to be later. I feel like some heads and a cam swap will help a lot. A good tune will certainly be necessary. I am no stranger to LS swaps I did my first in 2000 into a 39 Buick and have done a few since then, but never really did much performance work on them. I will be lurking and learning probably will ask a few stupid Qs along the way. later Jay
