Default engine upgrade

Hi to everyone,I'm new on this site so bare with me.I'll start off with my question .I'm planing on upgrading my 89 silverado with a new powerplant.Please tell me whats better to go with 6.0 or LS1 as far as power and ease of getting the motor to work well with my truck. thanks

6.0 will be stronger and cheaper. Only disadvantage is weight (iron vs alum block), but the extra cubes should make up for that.

Great question! I want to do an LS1 swap on my 1990 C1500, but I am not completely sure. If you do the swap, you should do a write up on it

As far as the swap goes, it will be identical for LS1 or 6.0. Externally they are identical, all of the sensors are in the same place and everything.

Go for the 6.0. There's an LS2 (aluminum 6.0) for slae on tech with only 22k on it. Iron block or not 6.0 is the way to go.

im going LS1, but only cause i got a good deal on it... i woulda went LQ9 6.0

Default more engine swap questions

If I do go with the 6.0 should I stay with my 700r4 or try a 4L60E,and also,do I have to do any frame cuting,thanks to all for your help
