Default 6.0 Gen Iii Retro

I have a 2006 Gen III 6.0 with a 4L80E trans .I'm in the process of researching my options to install into my 1961 K-10 Suburban.I have the harness excluding the ECM and MAF sensor .I have contacted Howell Performance in regaurds to supplying the reprogrammed ECM and a different harness .My harness can be modified for $800 and reflash the ECM $450 .Has anyone tried a similar swap I'm looking for any help or ideas, parts etc.

Welcome! That's gonna be pretty sweet when it's done. Any pics? Early Classic Enterprises has a motor mount kit for the gen III engines.

save the money on the harness modify and just weed out somethings you dont need, and look around some more you can get your pcm flashed for the swap for a TON less than that! ill have some more insight within the next couple weeks. my 6.0 goes in my 89 very very soon. also put an '02 or older intake on your motor. 03+ are drive by wire and you have to have more parts and pieces and its much more complicated. for the basics on the swap try the conversions and hybrids section on ls1tech (tab located at vry top of this page)

welcome aboard and enjoy!

I do have all of the DBW components so this is the direction I'm heading. It will be just more interesting.I did contact another company http://www.speartech.com/ and received some very good feedback and less money.I also have a name of a company called www.waitformeperformance.com but no phone number .If you search it comes up in several forums but no web page.I hear he does a reflash for $100 or less .Any one have a number ? As for pictures the truck is in pieces but I will post some once I get the 6.0 layed in place.I still have to purchase the transfercase adapter to mate the 205 NP to the 4L80E.Thanks

I spoke to Jesse @ Wait 4 me and he told me to trash the 06 harness and find a 99-03 Car harness or truck .He said the 06 harness is way to complicated to modify .He can supply the ECM for that harness for $150 already reflashed. So the search continues.Anybody have a harness.
