2000 Sliverado Frame Restoration
Hey guys,
New to the forum obviously, but my dad recently got me my first veheicle. I am now the proud owner of a 2000 Chevy 1500 stepside. Very excited about it, however the virtually mint truck on the outside turned out to be a little something else underneath. The frame is rotting off of the truck, and so my dad and I have taken to restoring the frame before the rust gets too out of hand. Here is the picture of the truck when I first saw it.
I was instantly in love!
Getting into the rust part of the deal... It's pretty bad however if it is stopped now, we believe that the rigidity of the frame can still be saved. Some of the surface rust on the frame cross beams.
I know what you're thinking, really you should junk that ride! However the rest of the vehicle is in great shape! I'm tired now, and it's a school night, so I will post some more tomorrow of the progress we have made.
Somehow I believe that I am posting in the wrong section of the forum lol, and someone is going to yell at me... So if you guys like what you have seen so far, there has been much more progress, and there is even more to come, so I believe that I will start another thread in the project section; as this is where I believe this post should have originated. Thanks for viewing!!
