This is what happens when a honda civic tailgates me

All depends on traffic and what's going on also. If I see people speeding up behind me I will pull over and let them go by (especially if someone is in the vehicle with me, I don't do anything risky with a passenger). Now if I am on the hwy and cars all around and I have no where to go and am clipping along at 70mph and the vehicle behind me is so close I can't even see their headlights then ya, I'm gonna brake check you or do something once out of traffic to let the driver know they are being an ***

My usual course of action is what the OP did. Make some distance, and get another vehicle or two between you and the offender. Besides... it's a chance to show off a bit.
... My girlfriend hates it though, she fears raw POWA!

LOL ya anytime I get on it the wife gives me a look and just says "please don't get pulled over". She doesn't mind the speed just doesn't want to deal with my attitude if I get a ticket

Funny story, I never tailgate anyone. I used to work with my friends father, and often rode with him. Every day a guy used to tailgate him in a white car. He used to tell me he was going to spike his brakes, and make him eat his bumper. Well that is one of those things that you tell everyone, but never really do. Well, I left that job, and stopped riding with him. I was very close to him, I used to hang out with his son on a daily basis, and he was like a 2nd father to me. Well I was with my GF (in her white car lol). He was aware of her car, and I assumed he would know it was me. This was years ago, and he had a Lincoln with an auto dimming rear view mirror. it was the crack *** of dawn, and I decided to be a smart *** and tailgate him. Well, you guessed it, he hit his brakes thinking it was this guy that tailgated so many times before. Well I slammed into the back him. We hit hard, real hard. Nobody got hurt except the cars and my pride. When his car pulled away, it only had a couple scratches on the bottom of the bumper. I went to get out and my door wouldn't open, so I forced it opened. Well my friends father got out, and expected a fight. When I finally got out, you should have seen the look on his face when he realized it was me(I bet the look on my face was even worse). The problem was, when he hit his brakes, his nose went down, and his *** went up. Well my GF's car did the same. I went under his rear bumper, and his bumper took out the grill, header panel, all the lights, bent the radiator support, buckled the hood a couple inches, and pushed both fenders back into the doors (thats why it wouldn't open). I was heading to my fathers house, and he was only about 1/4 mile away. I got back in, and my GF was fine. I kept telling her it was worse than she thought the rest of the way there. Well when she tried to get out, and her door wouldn't open, I told her, its worse than you think. She instantly started crying. I felt like the biggest ***. I don't date her anymore, and only see my friend and his father a couple times a year, but when I see any of them, we always talk about it, and get plenty of laughs. Back then when I was a broke kid it wasn't too funny to me.

I'd rather not brake check anyone or intentionally hit someone that brake checks me. Insurance or not, I take to much pride in my truck for it to get tore the **** up just to prove a point to some dumbass that I don't even know and possibly get myself and family or another person hurt. That's my honest opinion

Crazy story, I knew something interesting was going to happen towards the end lol. That is an experience to remember I'd say.

i usually will kinda slow down get in the slow lane and let them pass, or if im in the fast lane i will speed up within reason speed limit untill i can get over. Now when im on a 2 lane road and in my truck someone trys to roast past me i will smash the gas and pull on them, then slowly ease up back to the speed limit, this is funny.
One thing that REALLY pisses me off is when there is consturction up ahead and left or right lane ends and you got these PUNKS that like to floor it and cut in line ahead.
Last time a guy did that to me i jumped on the gas while he was ttrying to pass and stayed beside me, usually they let off and file back behind in line, but no this guy hit some cones LOL

I only brake check when everything else doesn't work. I live in the land of absolute moron drivers. Speed up, they speed up to tailgate, slow down and they just ride even closer and still never pass..... even on a 4 lane highway.
I had an old 86 GMC 4X$ a few years ago and much like now, I really don't give a f@ck about other drivers. So I am in the right lane on a 4 lane divided highway doing the speed limit. Dumb@$$ in a Dodge ( it's at night and he is the only other vehicle on the road) pulls in behind me and sits there..... Okay well his lights are getting really annoying and it's un-necessary to ride my @$$ at night on a road with an empty left lane... SO I let this go on for about 10 miles and he never passes. I couldn't speed up much ( 6.2 diesel) but I could slow down...... he won't go around me. Finally enough is enough ( remember we are completely alone on this road) I change into the left lane and just lock up the brakes. Tires skidding and smoking and all...... And when I stop, I put the transmission in park. Well idiot had piled on the brakes at the same time as I and actually stops momentarily beside me...... and then buggers off doing easily 90-100 mph ( my truck could usually hit 80 mph tops) and disappears....... Really, wtf was that.
I ran one car sorta off the road with that truck that brake checked me ( because he got cut off by someone else and I was behind him). I let off because I intially was close and then he starts flipping me off ( dim 80's Chev lights) and tapping his brakes...... it's bumper to bumper traffic and I have a few car lengths between us already. So then I do ride his @$$ until I get around him once the road opens up ..... ( same old 6.2 4X4 here and the same 4 lane highway) and I pile on the brakes. He doesn't get the hint when he nearly hit me the first time and continues the ride @$$ high beams routine..... okay jerkoff....... round two and he hits the ditch avoiding my truck... meh, good riddance to bad rubbish. It was winter and I am pretty sure he stayed there.
I knew someone with a similar old Chev to mine that put his brake light circuit on a switch and let people hit him. The police eventually got suspicous and he stopped after about 10 rear end accidents. Not smart, but serves the idiots in this province right.
Honestly I usually just pull over and stop though....... I don't need more stupidity in my life and driving is just absolutely full of it........I don't go looking for fights on the road, nor do I want to engage, but sometimes it's just too tempting. I make mistakes, so does everyone else...... but if I get close it's because my signal light is on and I am going around you. Why can't other drivers figure that out? Like what is going through their head riding your @$$ just before your reciever hitch goes through their skull?
