It doesn't open when pressure increases. When I had the i5 I had to run 80psi base pressure and eclipsed the 100psi mark under boost.
I drove it more. Its a smoke show. I'm not sure how much more I can take Lol. Its apart right now while I am cleaning all the charge pipe and modifying the oil restrictors. Went elite smaller on them in hopes to cure all the oiling. If it doesn't start to clear up they are moving under the hood.

i think making the restrictors smaller and moving the pump outlet to the valve cover fixed the smoke issue. it was dark when i went for a spirited drive but it appeared to be smoke free or almost when looking at other cars headlights. also the charge pipe was dry when i got home. look out this thing might just work out!
