Silverad Driveshaft Explosion on DYNO

Sorry for the late post nick but I got my driveshaft built at northwest drivetrain on 529 and 290... I think I have already told you this though lol.
When my stock driveshaft blew out it took out my exhaust, gas tank, and the yoke on the rear end... it also weakened my output shaft on my trans and took it out a year later haha. Mine broke right down the middle just like Nicks also.

Length of shaft and critical speed is the culprit. The longer the shaft the lower the critical speed the shorter the shaft the higher the critical speed. Not so much what the shaft is made of. Steel or aluminum when you reach critical speeds the balance and pinion angles better be spot on or you are going to throw it.
I have a custom one piece aluminum shaft now. High speed balanced. Either material I wouldn't dyno in 3rd gear and I will always say a little prayer when my speedo is sitting somewhere beyond 120mph.

I have a 2-piece on my RCSB. It is all that Denny's would make me. They said I would destroy a 1 piece if the truck makes the power it should and that the 2-piece would be all set. get a 2 piece and be done with it.
