you have a link to your laptop? I remember you shopping one. I'll take a look at your specs. I am not sure about both being the same. Never heard of that.

You know I feel kinda used, knowing that an OS is asking these questions! Here is a guy who is supposed to be able to track incoming missiles and save tax payers multi-millions in damage repair by being able to use complicated radar computer systems. LOL

I gotta tell ya...never seen that. I don't understand what good it would be to put the small end in the pc.

Those three usb ports are just usb ports. One isn't like the other end of that cable? I see to the far left the small end of the firewire. Hmmm. I am stumped.

Interface type

Display / video, Hi-Speed USB, IEEE 1394 (FireWire), Network, Modem, Headphones, Microphone, Docking / port replicator
Hmmm

Unless someone else chimes in that is more computer literate, I gotta look into this one. You got me.

Connector type

15 pin HD D-Sub (HD-15), 4 pin USB Type A, 4 pin FireWire, RJ-45, RJ-11, Mini-phone stereo 3.5 mm, Mini-phone 3.5 mm

The bolded part is supposed to be the jack. If you look at the big end of the cable it should have 4 pins (slides).(sometimes appears as 3, can't see the ground)
