Swapping springs kinda sucks. Its about as nerve racking as pulling the cam out while the lifters hang there.

I dont need to swap springs and I would also buy those thunder racing tools to keep the lifters up. The most challenging thing looks like removing the oil pump and replacing the timing chain.
Putting the crank bolt back in looks like a bitch...am I reading right it needs to be torqued to 240lb/ft???
I bought a subscription to ALLDATA so that should be of good help as well.

I dont have any air tools....just whatever I can do with my hand tools, torque wrench, and cheater pipe.
ALLDATA says never re-use the stock bolt except for you reuse it to get the crank pulley mounted all the way....torque it to 240lb/ft, then remove it. Put new crank bolt on, torque it to 37 lb/ft and then a final pass of 140 degrees. Honestly, the cam swap does't sound so intimidating anymore. ALLDATA is SWEET. It costs $22 for a 1 year subscription and it's got all the GM service manual stuff. Sorry for jackin yo thread!
