Default Getting the 383 dialed in...

I'll be fine-tuning it over the next few months I'm sure, but it's already running well enough to have a little fun. I have a little over 500 miles on it now. The oil got changed out to Mobil-1 Saturday. Other mods are in my Sig.

This shortblock came right off the crate, got my stuff bolted on and in, and got dropped into the truck in two days. Zero issues. GM Performance put together an awesome package with these 383s.

The first clip is a 0-100 sprint on a bumpy, but empty, road near here. It's shakey but it's clear enough to see what's going on.
The second clip is down at the shop. I had to go there today to pick up my old parts anyway and figured I'd get on video just how bad traction is on that concrete.

Enjoy!

Thanks,
The cam is a Crower 00401LM. 269/278 degrees, 0.474/0.498" w/ 1.5:1, 114 LSA
I am running it with 1.6:1 rockers. Idle spark is at 9 degrees BTC and RPM is set to 550.

Why such low lift with the 269/278?

and also, what kind of exhaust setup is that because it sounds awesome!

The lift ont he cam with the 1.6:1 rockers works out to .506" intake and 0.531" on the exhaust. It's a streetable match for the flow numbers of these heads. The springs only support a maximum of .575" anyway. This setup actually works quite well.

Right now there are no catalytic converters on it because the ones I want aren't shipping yet. (Magnaflow short-body spun metallic-element ultra high-flow) Headers are Hooker Super comps - 1.75" primaries, 3" collectors. The system is true dual 3" with a 2.5" balance pipe. First pair of mufflers are Magnaflow 5x11x22" with 3" in/out. The second pair of mufflers are Magnaflow 4" Round x 14" that are also 3" in/out. The right and left cross over after the first pair to equalize overall length between both banks. I've never seen a system like this so I just had to figure out and build it as I went. I am hoping the cats quiet it down some. I like quiet and this definatelly isn't.

As far as I know, there is nobody else running functional EGR on a Marine Intake. There are a few people working on it. I will send you some links in PM a little later.

Thanks guys.
