Gary's Hemi 13.05 N/A pass
This is my buddy running for the first time with the new cam. He is on here I believe (Gary's Hemi). He went 13.05 @ 102 w/ a 1.78 60ft.
Mods are:
comp 268 cam
cal tracs
3000 stall
4.10 gears
DRs on 17s w/ 20s up front (he normally runs skinnies but did not this night)
SCT tune stacked with superchips
e-fan
intake
longtubes w/ magnaflow race muffler
weight reduction
This pass was on the stock 5.7 springs and pushrods also so he wasnt able to let the motor rev up past 6200. He also normally runs a short belt but it was stretched out and didnt fit properly to run with it. Tune was a little off too.
He is expecting to hit 12s easily on motor (my guess is 12.7ish), and expecting mid to high 11s on a 100 or 125 shot of nitrous.
Enjoy fellas...

not positive what the 5.7 springs are rated at...but the comp 268 cam is something like a 216/220 528/530 112 i believe...not a lot of lift compared to the GM crowd...but that's a nice size of lift for the hemis. the cam i'm about to put in mine is a 218/222 530/532 112
most everyone swaps the springs when swapping cams...no matter what the lift is on it. Gary's 5.7 springs held up fine, but if he revved it hire they would fail eventually
here's a quote from mopar muscle about the springs:
"The 5.7's factory installed springs are rated at a healthy 260 pounds (SRT8 is slightly more). But both coil bind at about 0.550-inch lift and cannot be teamed with higher lift cams."

oh and we swapped springs and rods this weekend so he will be making his 12 second pass as soon as he can grind down the nuts on the bottom of his drop spindles and fit skinnies up front and buy a new shortbelt
and yeah, this was at no problem last wednesday...he was pretty pleased, truck was hooking up GREAT too
