Well I had an interesting night last night! Went to the local 1/8th mile for a little grudge race event where I was setup to run a fox body on spray. Made a pass when I got there and went 6.65@109 but noticed it was a little lean. I added a little fuel and went at it again, still lean... We had been working on the suspension all night and got it pretty good so I turned up the launch boost 2psi an made it ramp in a lot faster! It kept spinning real bad about 30' out when the boost would come in so I never got a full run for the next few passes. Once we finally got it hooking up a little better I noticed it was still real lean am then that the fuel pressure was real low. So I pulled off the filter to make sure it wasn't clogged and put it back on and it seemed to be good to go. I also noticed the there was a leak on the boost reference line to the fuel regulator, so I was thinking it was all good to go!!! Went out to make one last test pass before I ran the mustang and it still spun a little but not bad. It was running damn strong, I noticed 28 on the boost gauge, stayed in it then it all went down hill. I heard something going on but thought it was just a little wheel spin then GGGGGRRRRRRRRBBOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!! KLAKKLAKKLAKKLAKKLAK. And Aalto of fire and sparks going everywhere... Oops! Shut it off, coasted a little ways down the return road and pulled off in the grass. And the rest is history! The bottom looks perfectly fine and the head is fixable so it'll be back on the road shortly.

What gaskets? I like seeing that 28psi number are you just out of fuel pump or what?

Why would you fix the head? If I remember correctly you are running a stock head, seems much safer, easier, and more reliable to replace it.

Yup, stock 799s. I have some friends that can help me out fixing it... And finding a single 799 head probably won't e too easy

Ebay has some shipped around $400 for a the pair.

Just seems like when you are pushing the envolope so hard you wouldn't want a repaired head. Such a big chance for hot/weak spots. Good luck either way.

P.S. Why the 799 head? I currently have 317s on my 408. I will run it with them for next year but the following winter I want to upgrade. Either CNC the 317s or go with a differant head.
