Hey guys my friend just got a inline 4 s10 xtreme and wants to get some more power out of it any ideas/websites thanks.

 

Trade it in on a V6 S10... there really isnt much for the I4. There was a guy doing turbo kits for it but his website is down and I dont know if he's doing them anymore. Basicly there would be all the standard stuff that one can do to the engine internals. I believe there MAY be a programmer available but he'd have to do a search.

Windjammer has a supercharger that works for the 2.2L, I've seen it installed on an S10 Xtreme and he actually got some decent hp numbers out of it. I think the guy is actually on this site, check this thread: https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=355843

The only other thing that I can think of would be nitrous.

 

There are a couple of bolt on mods that you can do. Replace the manual fan with an e-fan. An early 90's taurus fan will work. You can replace the throttle body with that from an early 90's 2.4 quad motor. then the usual intake header and exhaust route. But, that will only get you to a point where you can beat the civics. Other than that, they are still turds

 

add 4 cylinders?? the 2.2 is a crap engine, sorry to say.

 

only decent mod you can do to a 4 cyl S-10 is put a small block in it!!!!

i have an 02 s10 i4 i have a volant cai and flowmaster exhaust...and it was a waste of money.....and there is nothing you can do to get power out of it...


im tring to find either a 5.3 or a 6.0 right now ...

 

The I4 is weak. I had it in my first S10, sold it, and bought a truck with the 4.3L. Other than FI, not much will make any real difference. You could do e-fan and header, but if you want power, don't waste your money on the I4.

 

even FI doesnt do much, honsetly you would do about 3k or so in bolt ons and maybe an FI set up and you will be just as fast as a v6 s10....
