Default Oil pressure /sender question

I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado Z71 with the engine from a 2004 Tahoe 5.3 I just replace the oil pressure sensor ACDelco part #12677836. I made sure it was tightened down the spec and the connector was on firmly and I am getting no reading from it. I noticed from the ACDelco website that from 99 to 2002 is a bit different from 2003 to 2006. My question is, is there something with the 2000 that won't read this sensor for a 04? Or did I just get a bad sensor

yes the 99 - 02 sensor is different and utilizes a different plug.

Voltage range might also be different.

Are they threaded the same? Will the one for the 2000 work on a 2004 engine?

They are completely different. The 99-02 is tall, 1 wire, resistance based. The 03+ is 3 wire, short, and voltage based. The plugs are different also.
