A friend gave me a 1994 chevy 1500 Work Truck W/T for cheap ( FREE). It came with a 4.3,but he has swapped it out for a 97 5.7 that has been carburated. Currently it has no transmission in it and was hoping on getting some advise as to which transmission I should use. Like i said the truck electronic have been removed so it could not be a computerise type tranny.
Any help would surely be appriciated. The truck is in fair shape and the engine runs great and has excellent compression. When I say it runs great, is running it at idle for a short time.
is the truck 2wd or 4wd? the most direct fit physically would be a 700R4, keep in mind the TV cable needs to be set right or you will destroy the transmission so do research on that. as for the carb job, please tell me there's either a fuel pressure regulator or it's running a low pressure fuel pump?
