so motors in, gotta put the trans on, gave it a little shot last night but it was dark underneath the truck and my arms were pretty dead from working on this most of the day and only taking one food break, I’ll give it another shot today. Also I just ordered some 255/50/17 federal 595 tires for the back, they are pretty decent tires for cheap tires. I run them on my insight and I’m pretty happy with how they perform. I originally wanted to go with 15x10s on it with a 295/50/15 but I couldn’t find any sort of performance tires for that size and also the vision wheels I was looking at were 32-36 lbs a piece where as my 17x8’s are 20lbs a piece.
Firewall is polished up, non ac heater box, motor is leaning back more then it will because tranny and cross member aren’t on yet.

wiring schematics for 2000 ish s10’s. C101 is the plug on the passenger side near the pcm and blower motor connection. Its where the pcm side connects to most of the trucks wiring like gauges, mil light and a few others. This as well as c2 (fuse box plug) can be spliced into for everything needed wiring wise. I’ll post more pics as wiring progresses.

Motor is in for good with the tranny on it. The cross member had to be notched a little bit where the tranny mount bolt goes because it sits back about 3/4” further then a 4.3l would. The header clearance is super tight on the drivers side to the steering shaft. Really glad I did the Jeep steering shaft on it, might still have to dent two of the primarys on it for a little added clearance. Had to bend the heater core inlet and outlet but it fits and should work just fine. Also to be able to get the transmission on the crossmember had to be notched so we did that with the motor out and put the motor and trans in together which I’m kind of glad because trying to put it on from underneath the truck was killing my shoulders.

Stock 2.2l driveshaft fit perfect with the nv3500 and ls swap. Working on wiring now, I ordered a m16x1.5 to 1/4” npt adapter to run the S10 oil pressure sending unit, I’m pretty positive all the gauges will work as well once the wiring is done. Still need to build the exhaust then fit the radiator and wire up the battery to under the bed and build a holder for it.

You work so fast. By the time you have sorted out an entire swap, I have figured out which heads to buy lmao

She is a sweet looking rig with the step side and rear step delete. That was a good call there

Thanks Arthur! Some people have told me they don’t like the stepsides but I have a soft sport for them. I think with a few more little touches the truck will pull off the look I’m going for really well.

spent allot of today figuring out the wiring. The s10 c101 plug which is essentially everything going from pcm to the bcm or to the gauges was pretty easy to figure out, I was a little stumped at first since it had 3 vss wires coming from it but I found another guy who did the swap and ran all of them to the 1 vss wire in the pcm. There was one green wire in c101 which was for off/ ignition and on, that was ran to c1-75 for ignition power. There’s also a 5 pin connector under the truck that runs back to the tank, 3 of the wires are for the evap pressure sensor which I’m not gonna run and the other two, orange and black is a sensor ground for the tank level that goes to c1-80, weird thing was that pin was already being used for the ect sensor ground so I spliced it and hoping it doesn’t cause any issues. and purple which is the sending unit signal for the tank level which lined out to c2-55

c2 the fuse block under the hood has a few wires I still have to sort, there’s a pink wire that was o2 power I beleive, there was also a pink that was for ignition 12v, I don’t think I really need to worry about these as my stand alone harness “should” have that stuff wired in but I gotta go through the harness to verify and make sure I’m good to go.

my goal is to have the stock fuse box working to where it uses the oem fuel pump relay, starter relay and have all my gauges work.

im not in a rush to get it done but I am excited and it’s been fun to work on. I still gotta bend the fuel lines a little so they fit a little better and then it’s time to install the full harness and hope I did it all right. Also the nnbs map sensor I have won’t plug into my current map sensor plug on the harness so I’ll have to trim the plug a little or something since I don’t think I’m gonna find a 08+ truck in the wrecking yard to cut a map plug off of it.

i've got that cam in mine (might be the v2: 219/224-113°) with a 5.3 RCSB 4x4. yours should drive good with the littler truck & a 4.8.

I found those 08+ MAP sensor plugs for less than $20 on amazon if trimming it doesn't work out.

Cheaper on RockAuto, if youre already making an order. I paid ~$6 for mine and it came with some 5-6" pigtails I was able to de-pin and reuse for a different connector.
