Default '98 gmc Jimmy 4.3L wont start

So I kinda got thrown into the middle of this project helping a friend...

The truck was bought at a public auction so no history is available. Everything looks in tact, no random wires are ran etc, and it looks completely factor. The fuel pump primes, and can bleed gas out on the fuel rail. It has spark at the coil as well. It just cranks over, without much shutter or attempt to start. It has no DTC's except b0709 which has to do with a inop oil pressure gauge. He replaced the crank sensor, and now I think were going to do spark plugs and fix the oil pressure sensor.

Where do we go from here? I think it has gas and spark, so I cant imagine why it doesnt even stumble. We havent checked fuel pressure, although I dont feel thats the issue,. Do I need to check the distributor? or check spark at the plugs?

TIA for any help
